Who does Education Spectrum serve?
Education Spectrum provides person-centered social support services for adolescents and adults of all abilities who are seeking to build friendships, increase independence, strengthen social connections, and participate more fully in their communities.
What services do you provide?
Education Spectrum provides person-centered social support services designed to help participants build meaningful friendships, strengthen communication and socialization, increase independence, and actively participate in their communities through small group experiences and community-based activities.
How do I get started?
Contact Education Spectrum directly at (626) 797-1500 or ask your Regional Center Service Coordinator to submit a referral packet. Once we receive your information, we’ll guide you through the intake process and work with you to determine whether our services are a good fit for your goals and interests.
Is there a waitlist?
Yes, openings may be limited as we intentionally keep our groups small to promote meaningful peer connections and individualized support. We encourage interested individuals and families to contact us early to discuss availability and next steps.
How long does the intake process take?
Intake evaluations can be scheduled within a few weeks, depending on referral completion and funding authorization timelines.
How do I make a referral?
Complete our online referral form by clicking the “Schedule a Consultation” button, contact our office directly, or ask your Regional Center Service Coordinator to submit a referral packet to begin the process.
Are you a vendor of the Regional Center?
Yes. Education Spectrum is vendored with multiple Regional Centers and serves consumers throughout the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding communities.
Which Regional Centers are you vendored with?
Education Spectrum is currently vendored with:
- San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center (SGPRC)
- Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center (ELARC)
- Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center (Lanterman)
Do I need Regional Center funding?
Most participants receive services through their Regional Center, although private pay options may be available.
Can my Regional Center authorize services after my intake?
Yes. Following the intake evaluation, service recommendations are documented in an intake evaluation report and submitted to your Regional Center Service Coordinator for review and authorization.
Do you accept Self-Determination participants?
Yes. We proudly support participants enrolled in the Self-Determination Program (SDP).
Where are you located?
Education Spectrum is located in Altadena, California and serves participants throughout the surrounding communities.
How often do groups meet?
Adolescent Social Support Groups and Adult Social Support Groups meet weekly for a two-hour session.
When do groups meet?
Groups meet throughout the week at various times. Scheduling is based on participant availability and group composition.
How often do participants attend community outings?
Most participants attend one community outing per month as part of their authorized services.
Where do you go on group outings?
Outings may include restaurants, museums, bowling, parks, shopping centers, community events, and other recreational activities.
How many participants are in each group?
Groups are intentionally kept small to promote meaningful peer interactions, individualized support, and the development of lasting social connections. Adolescent Social Support Groups maintain a maximum participant-to-facilitator ratio of 1:8, while Adult Social Support Groups maintain a maximum ratio of 1:10.
What is the client-to-staff ratio?
Ratios vary depending on participant needs and group composition, but our groups are designed to provide individualized person-centered support while encouraging peer interaction.
How are participants matched into groups?
Participants are matched based on age, interests, communication style, goals, and support needs to promote meaningful peer connections.
Will families receive progress updates?
Yes. Families and Service Coordinators receive regular progress reports and updates as required by Regional Center guidelines.
